Planning for June 24-25, 2011 Is Well Underway...

Well, I was in Columbia last weekend to see family and used the opportunity to investigate some potential locations.  While there are a few more venues in Columbia than back in 2001, there are not that many that can accomodate a very large event (which is a potential with the potential number of attendees, plus spouses/dates we have between the schools).  Also, June is a big wedding month, so I am narrowing down the possibilities and will make a decision soon to get things locked in.

Because most potential locations require a minimum $$$ commitment and deposits, anyone who is willing and able to pay in advance or to donate any funds to get the ball rolling would be greatly appreciated.  Please email me if you are interested in doing this!   rbhsandhhsclassof91reunion@gmail.com

Over the last month or so I have been busy building a master spreadsheet of contact information that we have thus far.   This month, I will be reaching out to those who have offered to volunteer to help with the reunion to start tracking down those classmates that have not responded with contact information via facebook, etc.

Look forward to seeing you all next summer.  HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

REUNION DATES ARE SET!!! Friday night June 24th and Saturday June 25th 2011

Becky Bihr Brown September 20 at 1:03pm

Hello Friends and Classmates from RockBridge and Hickman. Thank you to all those who voted in the Reunion Preference Poll I set up on the blog during August--I believe over 100 people voted!

It was a close vote, but based on the weekend that looked like the most people would have the greatest chance of being able to attend, we are going to go with Friday June 24th and Saturday June 25th 2011.

I am a bit delinquent in touching base with those that offered to volunteer (work and life - moving to new home) have gotten in my way, but never fear I will be giving this some attention in the coming weeks so you will be hearing from me...

As soon as I get the list of names and contact info template ready I will be reaching out to volunteers to help track down our classmates that have not responded via Facebook and/or have not emailed me their addresses/contact info to date.

So, if you can, please email me with your information if you have not already as it will greatly expedite the process.

Email me at: rbhsandhhsclassof91reunion@gmail.com

Thanks!

Our 20 Year Reunion is Just Around the Corner!

Next summer will mark the 20th anniversary of the day we all bid farewell to the halls of Hickman and Rock Bridge. If you are like me, it is extremely hard to believe we could possibly be old enough to have this occasion on the horizon!

Since not everyone from the Class of 1991 is on Facebook I thought it might be a good idea to start this blog as an additional way to share information as the reunion planning committee comes together. Two weeks ago, on a fluke, I set up a Facebook page sort of as an experiment and we already have over 200 classmates connected through Facebook and over 200 more that have been invited, but not yet accepted into the group.

It is my hope that using Facebook and this Blog we can streamline the reunion planning, communication and keep costs down!  I have also set up an email box for the reunion and I will try to monitor it frequently:   RBHSandHHSClassof91Reunion@gmail.com

I am also compiling a master contact list so please email me the following to the above email address at your earliest convenience:

- Your Full Name (including maiden name for women)
--Which school you graduated from
--Email address
-Phone number
-Current home address.

Once we get the list started, I'll work with volunteers from both schools to divide up the RBHS and HHS list of "missing" classmates and have volunteers pursue finding them.

I would like to have a date set mid-to-end of August if at all possible...so please SCROLL DOWN and respond to the following polling questions at your earliest convenience. Initial feedback I have received is that late June would be best, but I have given a few options for dates (Anyone who attended the 10 year in 2001 can probably remember the HORRIBLE heat in mid-to-late July, so likely best to avoid that).

Once we have a date it will be easier to select volunteers from each school to pursue the various planning tasks going forward!

Please check this page for more information in the coming weeks and months.   And finally...please let other classmates know about this blog and the facebook page!!

Thanks! Becky (Bihr) Brown
